Bleak Faith: Forsaken (Archangel Studios) is a third-person open-world survival RPG set in a universe you've never experienced before. Play as one of the Forsaken, the last frontier of humanity against the growing horrors of the Omnistructure. As you find yourself stranded in a faraway outpost, you must adapt in order to survive.

When porting a game with such a unique atmosphere, where impossible architecture blends with entirely unique visual designs, our primary goal was to ensure that the graphic quality of the environments was not compromised when running on consoles. We also implemented the haptic vibration feedback of the DualSense controller of PlayStation 5, which allows for a greater level of immersion in the game while enhancing the gamefeel.
The main technical challenge we faced was that, in order to achieve such a refined visual appearance, the game uses a vast number of small elements that could fail at any moment, causing unexpected behaviors or major errors. Therefore, we had to review all the environments one by one (similar to checking the screws of a large roller coaster) to ensure that there were no unexpected memory impacts, as these could cause annoying crashes.
Ensuring everything would work well was essential. Communication with the development team was very important to make sure everything was properly reviewed and compliant with the GDD ideas.
